It has been over a month since January 1, the season of New Years Resolutions. If you made resolutions and are keeping them, I applaud you. If you are like the vast majority of the population, your resolutions, if you even bothered this year, have crashed and burned to be tabled until next year, next month, next week, tomorrow.
Instead of big goals, I am choosing small ones - VERY small. I am choosing only 1 small item at a time that I wish to become an unconscious lifetime habit. Research says you need time to completely acquire a habit...usually 21 days or longer.
Instead of committing to a large goal with many working parts, such a consistently clean kitchen (ha!), break it down into bite size very small tasks.
Starting this week, my one task will be: Empty Dishwasher in the Morning
This task is short and simple, and hopefully this will be a habit soon. Then I can move on to another very small task. I will put a sticky note on my bathroom mirror to help prompt me in the mornings until this does indeed become a habit.
Grab a pad of sticky notes and start today!
